Panoramic mountain elopement in Bavaria
Review
Story
Joana and Kensen are a beautiful couple with adventurous hearts and a knack for outdoor experiences. Although already legally married, the two wanted to have a symbolic ceremony in a destination that best exemplifies their personality, and that was Germany, right at the heart of Bavaria with breathtaking views of the alps.
Planning their destination wedding in Germany
Planning this wedding was surprisingly easy and well structured despite the short period given. The couple is from Luxembourg which is not very far from Germany (you can travel by plane or train), but planning a destination wedding during a pandemic within a month is supposed to be hard. Fortunately, everything was easy and stress-free, thanks to the clear vision of Joana and Kensen about how they wanted their destination elopement to unfold.
They knew everything they wanted for their special day, and the fact that there were no guests for this elopement made things even easier. With our wedding planner in Germany, Vanessza, in the lead, our couple achieved their dream wedding exactly as they planned it - just the two of them on top of the mountains.
About the venue
The ceremony took place at the heart of Bavaria overlooking the German Alps. The venue was close to the Neuschwanstein Castle because the twin castle, which was the inspiration for Disney princess movies, was the perfect backdrop for their post-ceremony photoshoot. Perched on top of the Schwangau mountains, the venue is surrounded by lakes, hilltop castles, and alpine views.
That special day
Joana and Kensen renewed their wedding vow at a wooden hut up in the mountains. The ceremony backdrop was the thick alpine forests and huge white cliffs that form part of the less forested German alps. Since it was autumn when they got married, some sections of the forest were turning into vibrant golden brown and orange hues. The view was just breathtaking!
With that kind of natural backdrop, the couple needed no decor except for a floral arch, a simple rustic frame covered in peach, tangerine, and white flowers, with light peach drapes hanging elegantly on one side.

Off to the adventure hike
After the ceremony, Joana and Kensen walked up to a meadow with stunning views of the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. During the walk, they posed next to the towering trees and in the middle of a road paved amidst the forest.
Once they reached the meadows, they ran around, had a picnic, and watched the views of the surreal twin castle as they savor every moment of their destination wedding.
